Summary: Eight months pregnant with twins, Aldin has just gotten through another bad date when the doorbell rings, and none other than the man that had left him alone and pregnant is on the other side of the door.
-

Sighing, Aldin tossed his jacket on the couch after slamming the door behind himself. He was so tired of having bad dates, and at eight months pregnant with twins his emotions were making things ten times worse. He didn't want to try with anyone else, not when he loved the very man that had left him alone and pregnant.

"Another bad one, huh?" Brandon asked, looking up from the magazine he was reading. He'd been the only person to help Aldin and stay there with him, and despite not being the babies father he was willing to take on the roll of one for his best friend.

Glancing at Brandon, Aldin just sighed and shook his had while he moved to sit down in the chair. He groaned softly as he lowered his weight down, then plopped in the chair with an exhausted sigh. "I don't feel like talking about it..." He said, rubbing the top of his very gravid, burgeoning belly.

Brandon felt bad for Aldin, knowing he'd gone through so much the past eight months. Aldin was actually excited and happy to be having the babies, but the whole thing with Jeremiah -the man that had gotten him pregnant- still upset Aldin and Brandon couldn't do anything to help with that. Jeremiah hadn't realized how much Aldin actually loved him.

Setting his magazine down, Brandon got up and went over, giving a light hug to Aldin. "Sorry. Maybe next time. Why don't I get some dinner started or something?"

"Yeah, sure..." Aldin sighed, leaning his head on his hand while he stared at the floor, his other hand still rubbing the large sphere of his pregnant belly. He was more hungry than that but he didn't think there would be a next time, being so close to having the twins coupled with being sick of bad dates just seemed to drain him.

The doorbell rang and Brandon nodded, patting Aldin's shoulder and giving it a gentle squeeze before he headed over to see who was at the door. The moment he opened it though, he regretted it and he scowled at the big man standing there. "You..." He glared weakly at him. "What do you want?"

"I want to talk to Aldin." The man mumbled, shifting his weight from foot to foot as he rubbed the back of his head, looking down at Brandon still.

"Who is it?" Aldin asked, thinking he heard his name being said.

Brandon didn't answer him and didn't move for the man either. "You've got the wrong address, so just leave." He said, going to slam the door in the other male's face. He wasn't going to indulge in whatever this man wanted.

But the door wasn't slammed as Jeremiah gripped it and stopped it from closing. He was a good bit bigger and stronger than Brandon so it was no trouble. "I'm here to talk to Aldin. I have a right to see him."

"You gave up your rights when you left him pregnant and alone!" Brandon snapped, and Aldin realized from the conversation just who was standing outside the door.

He looked over his shoulder behind the chair, but he couldn't see him from this position. He hefted himself up out of the chair faster than he had in months and he waddled around it to see Jeremiah standing in the doorway and Brandon trying to close the door on him. "Brandon I want to talk to him."

Brandon looked at the pregnant male, huffing quietly but he stepped aside and went to sit on the couch and glare daggers at Jeremiah. Aldin nodded to him then turned to look at Jeremiah, all different kinds of emotions rushing through him at once from looking at the man.

Jeremiah rubbed his neck, looking down at Aldin and seeing how big he'd gotten in the past eight months. "I know you're probably pissed at me and you have every right to be. But hear me out Aldin. I'm done wallowing in my own misery. I wanna help you, the babies..."

"You're right, I am pissed at you. You left me alone, pregnant! With your twins, Jeremiah! Do you know how many nights I've spent alone, crying myself to sleep because of you!? And now you're showing up here, wanting to help?" Aldin snapped, balling his hands into fists at his sides.

The bigger man nodded and he looked down, knowing he deserved that and more and that Aldin was right. "I know, and I can't take back what a douche I've been. I just...I'm terrified of being a bad father, and I just kept thinking I screwed your life up by getting you pregnant and I don't wanna let you or the babies down and I just...ran. But I'm done, I want to make it up to you Aldin! Please give me a chance. I...I love you, Aldin."

Aldin stared at him, taken aback for one that Jeremiah admitted all that to him, but even more so that he said he loved him. "You...what?" He had expected to hear a lot of things, excuses upon excuses, but he wasn't prepared to hear that at all.

"I love you, and I have since forever. Please, let me make it up to you and the babies. Let me help you now. I'll do whatever it takes, please Aldin." Jeremiah replied, reaching out to grip Aldin's shoulders and look at him directly now.

Aldin wasn't sure what to think now, but looking in the man's eyes he was sure he was being sincere. "I've loved you so long but how can I trust you again? You left me when I needed you most, Jeremiah." He said, looking away and resting a hand on top of his swollen abdomen. He wanted to believe him, his heart really did want to take him back but he'd been emotionally drained the last eight months.

"Just give me this chance, please. I'll help however you need me to and I'll be here from now on. Please, I don't want to keep running from this, from you..." He gripped Aldin's chin to look him in the eyes, trying everything he could to show he was serious about taking responsibility and being there from now on.

Aldin hesitated and he glanced back at Brandon whom hadn't spoken up, just sitting and probably judging them both on the whole thing. He looked back at Jeremiah and practically deflated. Maybe he was weak, but he hadn't stopped loving Jeremiah and knowing he wanted  to be there meant so much to him and he didn't want to be alone for a minute longer.

Jeremiah whispered 'please', and Aldin sighed, looking down at his hand that still rested on his stomach. "You...you screw up again and you'll never see us again..." He mumbled, looking back up at Jeremiah. He really wanted this, and Jeremiah was sober and looking more sincere than he ever remembered seeing him be.

"I won't, I'll do whatever it takes to be a good father for the babies and be here for you." He said quickly, running his hand through Aldin's hair now. He wasn't going to miss out on being with Aldin a second time, and despite his fears about being a horrible father he wouldn't hide behind booze.

Brandon wasn't sure how he felt about the situation, but seeing the slight smile on Aldin's face he knew this was what he wanted. He was still going to be there to help and protect Aldin if Jeremiah screwed up again, but he hoped the man was going to really sober up for Aldin and the babies' sake.

End.

:la: Another mini commission, this one for oyasumibunbun! They wanted a more angsty story and gave me a couple different options for the ending, hopefully I got it good for them. ;) I like scenes like this, though I had to fit it into a mini commission. ^^; But I enjoyed writing it regardless! :D

:icondonotuseplz::iconmyartplz:
The idea was oyasumibunbun's. The characters Aldin, Brandon, and Jeremiah (c) oyasumibunbun. Plot, number of babies, all their idea as they requested it. :)
